​This tour describes the army formations and makeup. For instance, all land-owning Roman citizens were obligated to serve in the military for 10 years. "The Roman solider were organized into large military units called legions. The Roman legion was made up of some 5,000 infantry and cavalry." Each legion was divided into centuries which were groups of 80 men who were sent to various areas. The tour will go on the land to see what type of terrain the army traversed. This is a fun tour for all ages since Roman military garb can also be tried on. 



Military Recreation

The Punic Wars tours cover the series of 3 wars in which Carthage and Rome fought against eachother. In the first war, Rome invaded Carthage. In retaliation, Hannibal was chosen to lead the people of Carthage against the Romans. After hiking through the Alps, they managed to surprise the Romans, causing many casualties. They however did not succeed in taking the city down since Rome had many loyal allies. The final war occurred when the Romans invaded Carthage and took many citizens as slaves. The participants will be allowed to try on authentic Roman garb as well as visiting many sights that were part of the Punic Wars.

The Military Recreation Tour is by far the most interactive tour. The Roman military formation, battles, and garb will be recreated by professional actors. People will no only see a battle with the use of spears and shields, but also will be able to safely participate in one! The children find this very entertaining.
